Today in 1974, Mamas And The Papas singer Cass Elliot died in her sleep from a heart attack after playing a sold out show in London, England. She was staying at Harry Nilson's London flat when she died. Her solo hits included 'Dream a Little Dream of Me,' which also featured the rest of The Mamas and The Papas and 'It's Getting Better'. During the 60s, at the height of their success, they helped pave the way for the emergence of performers like #bobdylan . #marytravers , born in Louisville, KY, had appeared in several folk groups; and, after working on a Broadway flop, The Next President, with #mortsahl , was encouraged back into singing by #paulstookey . He was born in Birmingham, MI, had led a high school rock ‘n’ roll group on local TV and then became a stand up comic in Greenwich Village.
