Sad Headcanon: There was a time Gestahl trying to win Kefka's trust shared with the little boy books about legends involving magic and Espers in hope of causing a curiosity and future desire for It, They spend hours talking about Kefka's impressions... And Gestahl almost seemed a paternal figure (?)

Kefka almost fell for it too. But he was too smart to believe someone like Gestahl could care for anyone.

Paladin, Machinist (For the FFXIV ask prompts meme)

Paladin: Does your character have any special belongings they couldn’t bear to lose? Yes. Kefka wears a chain around his neck with both his and Leo’s engagement rings on it. The rings help him remember what he had with Leo, as opposed to all of the memories that he has lost. Not only that but, due to both he and Leo’s emotional attachment to the rings, they act as a conduit through which Leo’s spirit can manifest itself and appear to Kefka. Of course, Kefka does not know this and frequently mistakes Leo’s appearances as hallucinations or tricks played by the Espers (which often does happen), and so he rarely listens to whatever Leo’s ghost tells him.

Machinist: Does your character have any interesting or unusual hobbies?  Pre-infusion he enjoyed art, music, and literature. He was quite the talented artist and would spend whatever free time he had immersing himself in this pursuit. Post-infusion his interest began to wane. His taste in art grew darker and his paintings became more morbid and macabre. His interest in music disappeared because the sound of it became painful and confusing. Really though, he treats killing as an art.

⌘ :Where do you get some of your inspirations for plots/head canons? Offer an example, if possible.

I have an IRL group of friends that were all going to go to Comic Con with me. It went from just talking about costumes to roleplaying as those characters. Over like, the last year, our characters have all developed these insane headcanons that I’ve kept track of in a Word document. If an idea pops up that I want to look further into, I’ll throw it at a partner on here.

An example would be an rp that I have going with @askaeristheflower where she plays the role of a psychiatrist who works with the bad guys. In this verse, the rules have been changed so that none of the villains died at the end and instead ended up as her client for one reason or another. For Kefka I said, “Well, he’s been locked in an insane asylum.” Aeris comes to him and tells him he has a chance to gain his freedom but he needs to be rehabilitated. She works with him one on one and also makes him go to therapy groups. This is where he meets the other villains, who all also have their own reasons for ending up/going there. 

Obviously the IRL version goes a little different than the RP one. IRL Sephiroth is an emo little bitch who cries about his mother and fancies himself to be the poster child for Aeris’ group because he’s got a book deal and goes around giving talks about redemption. He also at one point or another put out a pop album (it was adequate). He and Cloud have sex but Sephiroth cries afterwards and Cloud basically just drinks to deal with the fact that he’s with Sephiroth. The online Seph went to prison for like 5 years and probably did bench presses every day. He is terrifying.

Ultimecia is also way less of a bitch in the IRL version. She has time duplicates of herself and runs basically everything. She’s basically the Cartel. Kuja works for her as a gossip columnist and she drinks wine and throws shade like Cersei Lannister. The one on here is an emotional black hole.

I could go on with character comparisons, but yeah…

Moss agate (high/low opinion of them self):

It really depends on the day, but overall, it’s rather low.

He’s never particularly liked himself and he never learned to love himself. Obviously he has moments of mania where it seems as though he’s on top of the world and he becomes narcissistic, greedy, obsessive, and exceedingly aggressive and psychotic. That’s the side of him that can seem playful and charming, has a sharp tongue that can twist words with ease, and delights in chaos and thinks of murder as playtime.

But once that all drops out from under him you see the other end of the spectrum and you get to see the side that’s filled with absolute isolation, self-loathing, delusional thinking, and nihilism. That’s the side that remembers that he was just a means to an end for the Empire and is convinced that his existence won’t matter unless he makes a mark in history. That side of him reminds him that he is alone, that no one wanted him, that no one cared when he complained about headaches, and nightmares, and memory loss after the infusions started, so long as he could still lead the army. That’s the side that told him that they all deserved it.

Ultimately, that side wins once he becomes all-powerful. Destruction becomes boring and there are no challenges left. Death is the only thing he hasn’t tried yet to make himself feel better.

Quartz (how they think other people see them):

Kefka isn’t stupid. He knows people view him as a psychotic monster. He also doesn’t care. Hardly anyone really knows him or has bothered to ask, not that it’s truly their business.

Kefka does not suffer fools gladly and he doesn’t care for others’ opinions.

Malachite (as a child, what they thought they would be when they grew up):

Kefka never believed he would live to be an adult.
