The "initial" investment is $100 Billion shared between OpenAI, Oracle, and Softbank. This reeks of Dewey, Cheatum, and Howe. The project is to be called "Stargate" and will require a massive investment in infrastructure and given what is already known about the power requirements of AI, it might just break the U.S. electrical grid as well as contribute to destructive climate change, wildfires, and who knows what else?
