i'll draw Ace later anyway, they follow Ace and Ace is staying with Law cause Law saved his life. Ace gets to be present at Wano and reunite with Yamato and since the revolution is staying in Wano Yamato gets to go with Ace out to sea

They were only able to make out the figure, which was almost completely covered by the still falling snow, because of the vibrant reds of his hair and uniform.

“Oh Lord,” Deuce whined, “it's a Vinsmoke”

Ace's curse had nothing to do with that.

The Vinsmoke lay face down on the snow, completely immobile except for the way that the wild winds messed with his hair and clothes.

“Do you think he's dead?”

“I doubt it” Deuce looked apprehensive, but he still followed his steps through the knee-deep snow “Careful Ace, he might still be dangerous!”

Ace knelt next to the prone figure and rolled him onto his back. His head followed the gravity and inertia, his eyelashes had frozen his eyes shot and through his slightly open mouth came small puffs of air.

“Fuck, Deuce, he's alive”

“Shit,” The masked man looked at their surroundings before he started looking for something in the snow.

Fortunately, the Vinsmoke wasn't frozen yet, so Ace was able to manhandle him into a position in which he would be easier to pick up.

He noticed Deuce's pinched expression “We can't leave him to die-”

“I know, you told me-look, I know you pity him but he could still be dangerous -” he said, still looking around.

“Deuce-”

“-unless we have his nutcracker, and even then, if it falls in the wrong hands - until we find a way to free him or something - why are you smiling at me like that?” Deuce squeaked, flushing slightly.

Ace chuckled “You're a good person, Deuce”

Deuce sputtered “ah - uh - ri - righ - o - of course I am!”

That drew a guffaw out of Ace. 

Deuce huffed and went back to his search, until -

“Jackpot!” He raised his arm to show the wooden figurine of the red nutcracker “Found it!” He quickly got up and dusted the snow off his pants “Now, let's hurry before the storm catches us and we all freeze to death”

“Right!”

Ichiji had not expected to wake up to a warm fire.

He had not expected to wake up at all.

He still felt tired and drowsy but he forced his eyes open.

Two other men sat at the other side of the small bonfire. One was easily recognisable as a Candy Land citizen, his minty blue and white coloured hair, reminiscent of a candy cane, showed he was native to the closest towns to Winter Land, the ones trapped in an eternal winter along with their neighbour. The other's roots were harder to pinpoint so Ichiji decided to give up his guessing (and blame that on his tired bones).

Both were well-dressed and prepared for the cold weather, and they were armed; the candy man had a pair of twin guns strapped to his belt, and the tanned man had what looked to be a metal pipe close at hand, surely a source of blunt force trauma for whatever enemy they might encounter.

Ichiji considered for a moment to close his eyes and fake sleep, but, what could these men do? Kill him?

Either way, the tanned man had noticed his open eyes.

“Hey! You're awake!”

The candy man startled and looked at Ichiji with wariness, the complete opposite of his companion's happy smile.

Ichiji sat up and cracked his sore muscles. And he saw his wooden figurine seated between the men, his gaze shifted between them again, one smiling and one distrustful.

The freckled man spoke again “How are you feeling?”

“... Fine …”

The man whistled, “Good, for a moment there I feared you wouldn't make it, and what was I supposed to tell your brother then?” He scratched the back of his head, a little nervous.

“My brother?”

“We - I mean, I am a friend of your brother”

Ichiji glared “None of my siblings have any friends”

At that, the candy man snorted and broke into loud guffaws that sent him to the floor. The friendly man snickered, finger scratching his cheek.

“That's kinda sad actually” he said awkwardly. The candy man wheezed “But I was talking about Sanji…”

Ichiji's breath hitched “Sanji is dead”

The tanned man startled “No? No, he's not”

“But father said… and he hasn't been seen since…”

The man sighed “Look, I don't really have any proof so I'm not going to ask you to believe me or anything but-” he threw the nutcracker at Ichiji - it clashed with his chest and landed in his waiting hands - “we're on our way to catch up with him and my little brother in the capital of Alabasta so, you can come with us if you want, or not, I guess, up to you”

Ichiji looked at the man, then at the nutcracker - clean, cared for - in his own hands, and up at the man again.

“My father must be looking for me,” he said - something akin to hope flarin in his chest - and the man shrugged nonchalantly “I don't even know your names…”

The man blushed “Right, sorry, completely forgot about that. I'm Ace, Portgas D Ace, and this is my friend-”

“Deuce” said the candy man, sitting back up.

“Masked Deuce”

“That's a creepy ass nickname, don't call me that” he elbowed Ace.

Ace chuckled, turning back to Ichiji.

“So?”

And, really, what else could he do?

“Vinsmoke Ichiji,” he greeted formally. “I look forward to travelling with you”
