Hi! How many staff are there, currently? Also, I just want to throw out my opinion and say: I hope you include image aesthetics, like the previous anon mentioned. It sounds cool. When you say you won't "romanticize the past" but remain inclusive, does that mean that disenfranchised characters will be welcome, but those characters should take into account things like segregation? currently there are two people on staff. thank you for your feedback regarding aesthetics!
marginalized characters are not only welcome, but hopefully the focus of MASKS. we often hear people say “oh, life was so much simpler way back when” or “wow, i wish it was the 50s so i could go on a milkshake date or wear a poodle skirt” when, in reality, life just wasn’t like that for many people. yes, things like segregation should be kept in mind, because we don’t want to sanitize the past. that being said, we won’t tell people that characters who are women, POC, or WOC cannot be doctors, lawyers, etc.
while the 50s were full of even more bigotry than the time we’re living in now, the staff will not accept characters who are maliciously prejudiced with no intent for this to change. staff will be more than willing to listen and take necessary actions if someone reports that a character/member is making others feel uncomfortable or unsafe.
