Too Cool for School- Masong Music Performances
(Note to self: Find another way to greet people....)
Anyways, last week I enjoyed a couple of music performances by my Grade 2's (which if people have forgotten are around 16-17 years old).
There are normally 4 grade 2 classes but two have very small class sizes. So, they usually combine when doing sports or performances. Basically, this is a time for students to show off their musical talent.
The performances had 2 M.Cs to keep the flow and let people know what act was coming up. Students sang, played the piano and guitar, rapped, and danced. It was really fun!
Even though I was supposed to have class, I managed to make a deal so that I could watch the performances.
The best part was my male co-teacher surprise participation in a girls group dance. It blew my mind, and I thought he danced even better than some of the girls!
Lastly, the students read letters to teachers who have impacted them and said their sincere feelings to their teachers. This was really touching and maybe after more time spent with my students they will consider me one of those impacting teachers! (Fighting Amba Teacher!!!!)The absolute last act was a group song done by the whole class.
All in all, I loved learning new things about my students and finding out that some of my students are REALLY talented and brave to perform in front of their peers and teachers.
Here are some pics from the Grade 2 Musical performances!
