Countries around the world are scrambling in different ways to fight back the spread of the coronavirus. Iceland’s approach of mass testing has proven to be profoundly insightful, impacting our understanding of the virus in a new way. The small island nation of only 364,000 inhabitants has been on a...
Demand Mass Testing
MABUHAY Digital Art by Gerilya 2020
Hello! To whoever may see this, I hope you will spare some time in helping Philippines right now.
This post is about the Anti-Terrorism Bill. Please be guided.
At the height of this Covid pandemic, their lawmakers decided to vote on a bill that disregards human rights (freedom of speech). Police brutality, abuse of authority, questionable deaths and arrests, underpaid healthworkers, operation of illegal businesses like POGO , and countless laws have been violated- and most of the time their fellow journalists who report on such issues are killed and/or being silenced.
Will all this happening, there is still no mass testing in their country, their frontliners are left underpaid, and the virus is not heavily prioritized as it is compared to the said bill. Which is questionable since, their country's debt has skyrocketed to over Php 9 Trillion, in this pandemic alone. To give you an analogy, 3months in to quarantine they decided to open businesses, stop sending financial help to the poor, shut down the country's leading news firm, violate quarantine rules by having parties(a policeman did this), breach hospital protocol by walking around despite having symptoms(a senator did this), and prioritize mass testing on foreign workers inside the country (Chinese nationals mostly POGO workers) and not their people. Yet it took only about a week or two for their lawmakers to vote yes on this bill.
Under the said bill, anyone can be arrested under mere suspicion without warrant. Adding to this, one can be arrested for criticizing the government or making memes about it.
Please help the Philippines by signing this petition! If this bill passes, the following generations will suffer. This is their last cry of freedom before they will be silenced for good! This is what I can find as of now, if you're Filipino and you have other links to petitions pls feel free to tell me to add them.

So ano goal nito?
Causes for the Filipino
Hi everyone especially to Filipinos, please take time to check this out, educate ourselves and sign these petitions! We must act NOW, for our own lives, and for our beloved country. Please, allow ourselves to see what our country really needs.
Nearly two months of under quarantine and I made this piece for the circumstances we greatly deal now. Such strange times we are living in and I pray everyone is doing what they can to be sane and keep safe. No matter the situation we face, I pray that we all remember to be human and not be against each other. Instead, let’s help each other. Be kind to one another. That’s all we can do right now if we want to survive this global crisis together.
