i feel like the only reason the world is on fire is because of our incompetent and corrupt government
hi i'd just like to rant because of everything that's happening with my country, the Philippines. our government is so anti poor, the supreme court is actually not gonna approve of free mass testing. jeepney drivers resulted to BEGGING for money along highways bc the govt still does not approve of public transportation bc of the pandemic. they are using the pandemic to phase out old jeepneys which will be replaced by more expensive vehicles the drivers cannot afford. the president just signed the anti terror bill which tramples over human rights and freedom of speech. with this bill, we literally cannot meet up with friends in case we are "planning" something. the bill also describes a terrorist in a very vague sense which they can bend and use to let anyone seem like a terrorist. a week ago, i think, 20 people in a pride protest had been arrested and the police cant give out reasons for their arrest when they socially distanced and wore masks throughout their protest. our country is $161.6 Billion in debt bc of the pandemic but it feels like the government isnt doing much. before the govt had this much money, the president actually had over PHP 200B (around $4B), at his disposal, for the pandemic that he got from taxpayers. i didn't even include ALL that's been happening, just imagine how tired we are.
The terror bill has been signed by the President Rodrigo Duterte and by law will take effect in 15 days. To all my Filipino followers I know we want to shout this from the rooftops and voice our disagreement but we have to be careful about it. Remove all sorts of identification from your social media accounts if you're like me and still want to keep voicing out our criticisms against the government: remove photos of yourself heck make it seem like a Kpop fan account. Make sure any kind of social media account won't come up if someone were to look it up in Google. Make sure that the email address attached to your social media accounts is a dummy one or at the very least does not reveal your name. Make sure that the email addresses don't connect to a singular account that may disclose your name. If you want to feel extra safe, clean up your political posts. People on the internet will come up for code names to refer to the President and whatnot so just stay tuned for that. Have a lawyer handy at all times and if by chance you are to be investigated, make sure you know your rights. Keep on fighting, but be smart and safe about it.

The Terror Bill is now an official law in the Philippines. I, myself do not live there however to everybody that does, I’m genuinely sorry about what we did wasn’t enough to stop this from happening. It’s absolutely disgusting and we need non Filos to help spread this around so we can hopefully bring an end to this.
