EVE Online Gets Membership Spike
Remember last week when we reported on the massive EVE Online battle over an unpaid bill? With that kind of war, it may of got you thinking about checking out a trial account with EVE Online. Well, that’s exactly what 15,000 people did. CCP Games CEO, Hilmar Veigar Petursson, released this chart below representing the number of trial accounts over the game’s ten-year history. You’ll notice that massive spike in 2014, which is the result of all the media attention on the battle last week. Most of us haven’t seen a chart with that kind of increase since An Inconvenient Truth. We’ll just have to see how many of these trial memberships turn into full-time members, but it’s good to see some renewed interest in this 10 year-old title.
