Meet Master Maestro and Lady Novella <3
You hear people say things about their pets like ‘I’m not sure who rescued who’, and I always thought it was uber cheesy, but oh my golly, did these little purr machines ever brighten up my life in ways I didn’t know I needed. My first wee muffin was Maestro, this majestic ginger king with such a loud personality. I fell in love with him the moment I scooped him up in my arms. Every night since we brought him home he hops up on the bed and snuggles up right on top of my head. It was cuter when he was teeny, but over the past few months he has been rapidly taking over the entirety of my pillow....which I would mind except for the fact that it’s too damn cute to shove him off. His name is an homage to my passion for music, but my goodness does it ever suit him. He is such a vocal chap, I have never heard such pipes on such a small creature!
While Maestro is silly, loud, and in everyone’s face, my little lady Novella is the complete opposite. She was a rescue from the humane society, and once again, the moment I held that teeny wobbly ball of fluff against my heart, I melted into a puddle on the floor and knew she would be coming home with me. Her name suits her as well as Maestro’s suits him, as she is newest and smallest story in my life, and loves to snuggle up on the bottoms of my book shelves. For her first week with us, she was nowhere to be seen, hiding under couches and beds and fleeing at the sight of us....but soon enough Maestro won her over and they became the best of friends and now she is the biggest cuddle bug I have ever seen. Every time I sit down, she senses that there is a warm empty lap available and zooms over for a snuggle.
I am certainly enamoured with my precious kitten fluffs and am forever grateful that the universe brought them into my life. For anyone contemplating bringing a teeny fur ball into your home, I support it wholeheartedly. The entertainment, love, and endless cuddles are so worth any extra cost, messes, or trouble they may cause.
