You’re brilliant!! It’s all true! I almost cried reading this… I’m with you. To me, Star Wars ended in ROTJ, ended when Lucas left. I consider TFA as a sort of AU by Disney and I like it as a form of entertainment and to a superficial level but I’ll never gonna see it as a epic story with heart as the OT and PT are. I’m thinking, with time I’m gonna change my mind with TFA or this new trilogy being ok, somehow, due to the obvious unoriginal and heartless perspective they’re building. But as I said, it’s a Disney AU to me. Great essay!
Thank you so much, my friend. :)
My aim in writing this post was not to try to sway others to my way of thinking, nor to convince people not to watch or enjoy the sequels, but simply to express my thoughts and feelings as thoroughly as possible in the hopes of being able to reach others who might be already feeling the same.
I’ve been very heartbroken over all of this for a long time now, and have frequently felt alienated from a fandom that I once called home. I’ve kept quiet about my true thoughts on this subject for a while, mostly out of fear of rejection. (And we all know that fear leads to the Dark Side, lol.) So, thanks again for your continued support—the fact I was finally able to summon the necessary courage to reach out through the Force and feel connected again means everything.♥
