It was always a chore getting back to his TARDIS when events separated the Doctor from his ship by continents or even planets- sometimes galaxies. Sometimes said events (capture, accidentally getting transported elsewhere, ect.) brought him full circle and he could simply walk back... and sometimes they didn’t. At least this time there were only a few solar systems between him and the ship he called home- there’d definitely been worse and in parts of the universe that had far fewer options for travel.

As he strolled through the busy spaceport looking for the right ship to take him back, though, the Doctor couldn’t help but feel like he was being watched. Sure there were security cameras hidden everywhere and records probably showed that he was one of very few that didn’t have any official reason to be here like a boarding pass for a commercial flight or business to conduct with one of the cargo ships, but he didn’t think it was that. While this was a much more reputable port than the likes of Calibris, it was unlikely that his roaming about would attract that much attention. Yet, at least, since he’d not stuck his nose anywhere it didn’t belong so far.

No, this felt a bit more personal than cameras twitching in place to follow his movements. And whoever it was doing the watching had, so far, done a very good job of avoiding being seen. Hm...
