Found Astray ~/~ Hibiki and Crona

When Crona was searching for a place to call home in Brieve, Saint Nicholas’ Orphanage came to mind. He had considered finding his way among the other lost children before settling on his solitude in the abandoned hospital. However, the thought of being surrounded by so many others, others who couldn’t possibly understand where he came from, had always been too much of an overbearing thought to the swordsman. So he had quickly pushed it out of his mind... But at the same time, perhaps they did understand a lot more than he originally thought.

Maybe they were a lot like him, used to being all alone in this world. That was why they lived here, wasn’t it? They had no family to turn to. Just like me. Am I one of them now? The swordsman blinked at the thought. Though he had left the only parent he ever knew, these children may have never gotten to know their own at all. What kind of existence was that? Was it better to have known the ones who had you and lost them, or was it more painful to never know who they were at all? As much as Crona resented the one he left behind, he could not imagine an existence without their influence.

“I wonder what that’s like...” The swordsman had been watching the children playing outside the orphanage from a distance. Some of them seemed about his age, but most looked a lot younger. Too young... At least they have each other. Often when Crona passed by the orphanage in his wanderings, he would see a young man in a white hoodie with strange ears playing with the younger children. Was he maybe someone like them too? He seemed to be the one looking after them. How did he deal with helping them go through whatever loss they felt?

Lost in thought, the pinkette didn’t realize he had been staring, having stopped himself in the middle of the street. For a moment he could have sworn he met the eyes of the one in the strange hoodie. “O-oh... oh no...” What was he doing standing there clueless like that? Now he was faced with the overwhelming urge to flee the scene, but rather than bolt he stood frozen on the road, his eyes darting among the rambunctious crowd before him. What would these people think of him...? “I-I’m sorry...” he mumbled to no one in particular.
