this was supposed to just be a sketch. but ain't most of my stuff, anyways?? either way. have more adeuce from this AU. + wanted to draw them on the ref i saw on pinte so yeah, have at it ᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ
suit mark shaped paint/grease stain hehheuahhuwhahahe i wanted to make a call back and i thought it's really cute.
ahh. i really hafta finish trappola aniki's ref sheet since he's going to be a reoccurring character that pretty much has a real big role in this AU. i worked on it before this but i ended up getting carried away. sue me. but! i got deuce bunny in one single pull, so consider all these celebration arts. hehe. (my friend pulled it for me. but. semantics. ty though. i ate your luck. it tasted good. goodluck with yours, lol.)
well, back to my (artist/writer) cage i go. i need to pin down scenes and actually release chapters before i run out of steam 😭😭😭 good day, everyone!!
Do you know this SFX? #1001

9. exile on main st. - the rolling stones (1970)
rating: 4/5
have i heard it before? yes
faves: tumbling dice, sweet virginia, shine a light
opinion: i had a conversation with my cousin at a music festival last summer abt the rolling stones and she was like ok but who has actually sat down and listened to every rolling stones album and i was like.... uhhh i have lol. this is standard good rolling stones. i'm vibing but it's also kinda unremarkable. i prefer their 60s stuff and i prefer sticky fingers to exile.
10. transformer - lou reed (1972)
rating: 4.5/5
have i heard it before? yes
faves: vicious, perfect day, hangin' round, walk on the wild side, satellite of love
opinion: a classic. lou reed at his commercially most ambitious. packed with lots of great songs. perfect day is perfectly constructed. bowie's production stamp on this is palpable. the second half of transformer feels very campy. i like transformer, but coney island baby is my album.
11. gorillaz - gorillaz (2000)
rating: 4/5
have i heard it before? yes
faves: re-hash, 5/4, tomorrow comes today, clint eastwood, rock the house, 19-2000, double bass
opinion: gorillaz is one of those groups i associate w my teen years. i was a fan. i had a whole sketchbook where i was drawing them all. don't think i've listened to this album since 5th grade. i forgot a lot of the songs apart from singles and hits. this still holds up for me but demon days is definitely more cohesive. this one is very chill and vibey. album in the background and not saying it as an insult.
12. highway 61 revisited - bob dylan
rating: 5/5
have i heard it before? yes
faves: like a rolling stone, tombstone blues, queen jane approximately, ballad of a thin man, desolation row
opinion: you thought i didn't know my dylan shit? don't test me. nashville skyline is probably my favourite dylan album, highway 61 revisited a close second. i like the energy of this album. a witty and turbulent record. it's kinda perfect, it must be said. just solid from start to finish.
13. the marshall mathers lp - eminem (2000)
rating: 3.5/5
have i heard it before? no
faves: stan, the real slim shady, the way i am, remember me?
opinion: first impression was god there're a million songs on this. first time sitting down and actually listening to an eminem album. i knew enough eminem songs to know he was abrasive, but i didn't know it was non-stop. it's both bleak and childlish, poetic and vile. idk how i feel. i think i expected more music-wise tbh. i went back and forth between this is mehh to i kinda dig it. 🤔 this probably was a crazy moment when it dropped tho.
14. time (the revelator) - gillian welch (2001)
rating: 5/5
have i heard it before? no
faves: revelator, my first lover, april the 14th pt. 1, ruination day pt. 2, everything is free, i dream a highway
opinion: i wasn't familiar with gillian welch prior to this. i found this album beautiful and transportive and i need to listen to more of her music. i always love an unresponsive god in music. the alienation, the disconnection... heartbreaking album. it feels like a late summer album tho so i need to revisit it during that time as well. i like to ascribe seasons and colours to albums.
