Getting rid of the evidence
Narcissa raised her eyes as the flames in the fireplace, once dim and orange, suddenly burst up in a bright green color, and soon after a boy stepped out of the fire carrying several parcels in his hands, a very-obvious broom tucked under one of his arms, and a pleased smile stamped across his face. As he set the packages on a nearby table, a man, practically an older version of the boy, entered the room through the same method.
“Mother, look!” Draco raised the boom triumphantly and approached her. He started ripping the wrapping paper, and she extended her hands to help him. In no time they got rid of all the paper and exposed the words ‘Nimbus 2001’ painted on the handle. “I bet Potter won’t get within ten feet of the snitch now.” Her son spat the other boy’s name venomously and the corners of Narcissa’s lips tugged upwards. He had been talking about that for months.
“I’m sure he was only made seeker for being Dumbledore’s favorite, dear.” She offered, and he nodded in agreement.
“I’m going to go test it now.”
“But you only just arrived!” She protested, but he had slipped out of the room just as she finished the phrase.
Sighing, Narcissa turned to her hisband. “So... How did everything go?”
