I finally found the original post, pops!

This is a long ass post so feel free to hate me if you don't like it

My AU is called Mastertale.

During a genocide run, Chara is fighting Sans to get to Asgore, but they fail and die. They Reset and fight again, and they die. Over, and over and over. Eventually, they start resetting the entire Underground, killing every monster again and again and again to try and maximize their power, and every time, Sans has to watch everyone he cares about get killed in a seemingly endless loop for a human child's boredom.

Even with all the Resets, Chara still couldn't manage to beat Sans, and soon their soul shattered... and didn't come back

Sans sat in the judgement hall, waiting and waiting. Nothing. They weren't coming back. They weren't going to Reset.

Filled with the grief of losing everyone he ever cared about, Sans was Determined to never let anything like this happen again.

He took half of the soul on the ground and fused it with his own, filling him with Determination. He gained the Power to Reset. He Reset the entire Underground, bringing all the monsters back. And since the human quit, Sans was able to protect the Underground for many years.

Unknown to Sans, Flowey took the other half of the soul of Determination and tried to absorb it with the other souls that Asgore had collected. However, the broken soul disrupted the process and set all of them free, wandering the Underground in search of Sans, who had absorbed Frisk's half of the soul. Meanwhile, Chara's soul came alive again, and searched endlessly for another human so they could have a body again and finish what they started.

Once upon a time, there was a human boy named Felix. Felix was on his way home from school when he saw half of a glowing red heart floating in the distance. Overcome by curiosity, he followed it. It led him to the top of Mt. Ebbot, and disappeared down a giant pit. Felix walked closer to see where it went, but tripped on a vine, falling down into the Underground.

The heart piece that Felix was following was Chara's half of the Determination soul, and finally having a body to manipulate, they joined Felix's own soul in his body while he was unconscious on a pile of glowing yellow flowers.

The other souls that had been accidentally freed by Flowey saw what Chara was doing. Not wanting to let them attempt another genocide, they also entered Felix, unknowingly granting him great power.

When Felix wakes up, they explain to Felix what happened, where he is, and how he can get back home. However, they all wanted to save Frisk from Sans. See, Sans doesn't know that Frisk was a pacifist, so whenever they tried to communicate with him, he panicked and suppressed them, causing them a lot of pain. The other human souls wanted to help Frisk so they wouldn't have to suffer anymore, and Chara wanted Frisk's soul half back so that they could have their own body back to commit another genocide.

The good souls can appear around Felix in ghostly forms to give him advice and just to talk. Chara only has half a soul, so they can only speak to Felix through his own mouth, turning half of his face into half of Chara's face.

All the souls wanted to influence Felix in some way to do what they think is right, but Felix has his own trait. His unbreakable Will is what would get him through whatever came at him in the Underground.

His Will gives him three new buttons, rather than Reset.

Backup - Felix can save the data of anything to be brought back later exactly in the state that it was backed up in. He can use it on himself, on other monsters, on objects... maybe even the whole Underground.

Restore - Basically what makes Backup useful. It restores the backed up data

Mod - The god button. He can alter anything in any way. Objects, monsters, himself, memories, the timeline, anything. But it only works if his Will is strong enough.

With the souls inside him and the three buttons' power, Felix can be whatever he wants to be in this world, ready to fight a Sans who's long ago given up on humans.

Fun details! - Flowey gave up on trying to destroy the Underground

Toriel opened up a school, and has convinced most monsters that humans aren't simply evil in nature

Papyrus - Now the captain of the royal guard, which has become more of a search and rescue force. He's not as obsessed with humans anymore and helps Felix throughout his journey

Undyne - Settled down with Alphys and left the royal guard to Papyrus

Alphys - Settled down with Undyne and focused her research on improving Mettaton. She also made her own anime

Mettaton - He has his own successful talk show. The ratings have gone through the roof

Muffet - Her bakery has become famous with her new menu item: Spider Muffins. Her pet spider had babies

Monster Kid (Now Monster Teen) - They train to be a royal guard under Papyrus. Obviously they're a little older now.

Onionsan and Shyren - They make music for Alphys's anime

Dogamy and Dogaressa - They retired and have twenty puppies

Woshua - Opened a dry cleaning business

Mad Dummy - He's a therapist

River Person - Still the same dude

Asgore - Takes care of Flowey

Sans - The new protector of the Underground. He hates any topic involving humans and thinks they all deserve to burn in hell. He gets mad at Papyrus for helping Felix.

Master Gaster - Not exactly a villain. With the Chara gone, he had no experiment and decided to make a successor. For funsies I gave him Overwrite from Xtale (by Jakei)

Remember Gash?

We're changing his story.

So basically, Thorn's story goes like this: He beat Chara a bunch of times until they rage quit, he got severe PTSD and he absorbed half of their soul to protect the Underground for years with thorns and reset powers, but the soul he absorbed had Frisk in it

*GASP*

Years later, Chara came back and possessed a poor kid along with the other fallen humans. They went through the Underground to find Thorn and get home/kill him/free Frisk, and Papyrus (Cap'n) helps them. Thorn tries to kill him every five minutes from the judgement hall, but fails because of Cap'n.

*GASP*

So they get to Thorn, and he locks Cap'n out so he can fight in peace, and he fights Felix.

Now, at this point, Chara's mostly taken over Felix's body, and so they try their hardest to kill him. Thorn kills them. Thorn kills them again. Thorn kills them again. Until eventually, he starts seeing things that happened decades ago as he impales them. He spirals. Every kill becomes more aggressive, with him going as far as to crush their soul with his jaw. Now, every time he kills them, he levels up. On top of this, he won't get tired. Too much has happened. And even worse? His HP is increasing from 1 as he levels up. And with his Reset and Determination, he can't die. Even if they manage to get close, he'll refuse. So, he keeps killing, and impaling, and beheading, and generally dismembering, and he loses his restraint with every point of XP he gains.

Felix and Frisk are forced to sit back and watch the ones using their souls violently attack each other for days, until they can't take it anymore.

"STOP!"

The word rings out from either side of the hall. Felix and Frisk take control with a lot of effort, and manage to calm Thorn down for long enough to convince him to Reset and undo all his levels. Frisk agrees to stay with Thorn to help him, and Felix deals with Chara in a way that I cannot disclose for spoiler reasons. He decides to stay in the Underground with the monsters.

Everyone's happy, everything's fine, and this is a pacifist timeline.

Felix learns how to use Backup, Restore and Mod to create AUs.

Thorn has been Felix's friend for a while now, and so he helps him create where he can. But Thorn had to know. What would have happened if he hadn't taken Felix's hand that day? So Felix reluctantly made an AU where Thorn ignores Felix's compassion.

This is called Slaughtertale.

Thorn (still Thorn for now) kills Felix thousands of times, as usual. But as he looks at Felix's outstretched hand, something feral inside him tells him no. He kills Felix again. And again. Until eventually, he starts hallucinating, seeing Chara's face everywhere. His Determination pushes him past level 20, and he doesn't stop killing, until Chara gives up once again, out of despair this time, as there's no way that they could beat this demon. Felix gives in and makes no attempt to live, as the pain is too much.

With his job being done, Thorn Resets and goes back home, his levels and HP back to normal. But something is different. Every time he looked at one of his friends, he saw them dead. He saw them screaming.

"they didn't listen. again."

"i should've tried harder."

Spinning around in his head along with the maimed images of everyone he cared about. Until he reached his breaking point. Maybe the images will leave if he gets rid of them? And so he kills his friends, his neighbours, everyone. Love increasing even more. Soon, his face starts deforming, the Determination being too much for his body. Cap'n tries to bring him back to his senses, knowing Thorn won't hurt his brother, but when a stray bone strikes Thorn's head, any restraint disappeared. And from there, Thorn became Gash. Perpetually crying for his friends. Forever smiling from the joy he felt from hurting. And he was the only one left.

Felix saw that the story was over and tried to get rid of the AU, but Gash was too powerful, and got away. This will definitely be a problem in the future.

So. I have an Undertale AU

Not really sure if more than like two people know about it so I'm gonna summarise the backstory.

So basically Mastertale (my AU) is an AU where Chara does a bunch of resets to beat Sans and eventually gives up. Sans has PTSD from watching all his friends die over and over so he absorbs half of Chara\Frisk's soul.

Meanwhile Flowey steals the other half and all the other human souls but accidentally sets them free.

Sans resets with half of the red soul and protects the Underground for many, many years.

Skip a few decades, centuries, whatever floats your boat, and a new human called Felix follows Chara's half of the soul back to the Underground and Chara inhabits his body to use him to get Frisk back. The other human souls find him and do the same but for different reasons.

By the way, Felix has three buttons. Two are called Backup and Restore which are basically just a buffed version of Reset cause you can use them on any specific thing, and the third is called Mod. It's basically the God Button and lets him change whatever he freaking wants in the Underground or anywhere else for that matter.

Catch: His buttons are powered by his trait: Will. If his Will isn't strong enough, then he can't screw around with reality.

I have a more detailed summary of this in the only community I'm in, but it's from like two months ago so good luck.

Rapture: "weowy! Don't know how you actually managed to /beat/ your human. Most times I can remember they just kept going till, I, gave up. So I'm kinda curious how you kept winning and somehow I keep losing."

*his head tilts creepily*

"makes me a little jealous, and kinda pissed off. Ya know what I mean?"

*then he returns to normal*

"but all in all just curious!"

"i hate to admit it, but i never "beat" the human. they just sucked and rage quit. shame on their part though, cause a couple more tries and i probably woulda been dust."

A few months after the events of Mastertale, Felix discovered that he could create his own AUs with the all the powers of Backup, Restore and Mod. He used this power to create the Masterverse, a AM (Alternate Multiverse) for his story. Him and Thorn worked to build it up for a while, but then Thorn had an idea. To make a Sans that was the complete opposite of what he is. The idea was that you can't truly have a true pacifist if the opposite doesn't exist. So they made an AU called Slaughtertale. Everyone is the polar opposite of their Mastertale counterpart. And this AU's Sans' creation would prove to be a grave mistake for the Masterverse in the long run
