Introducing Project Urban Pack Mule! This 1994 Diamondback Master TG road bike with a custom green powder coat and original Shimano 105 all around has been appropriately named “The Green Machine”. I still have the original 105 pedals but switched them out for more casual commuting purposes. I originally started cycling in 2010 as a way to commute to college, and to help get around without spending my whole paycheck on a tank of gas. This bike is priceless in my eyes as it has helped get me through some tough times in my life, and has always been a reliable means of transportation and good times.
I have recently made the decision to become more serious with cycling and now own the Cannondale CAAD12. However, I can never get rid of this bike and have decided to re-purpose it as a commuter bike for shorter trips and running errands. To start this transformation I have equipped the bike with the Thule Pack n Pedal rack, and matching panniers. Up front I have the Chrome handlebar bag that I interchange between bikes.
Future plans for this bike include a custom basket made for the front to replace the bag, mount some fenders for those wet days, and replace the tires with something wider (most likely 28c).
