I may sound like a whiney teen here -- regrettably of course -- but learning the denotative meaning of this word immediately reminded me of my parents. I cannot assume that their behavior is anything outside of the parental norm, so I do not intend to offend them in any way, but I can say that they are often guilty of this exact "above all" behavior, especially when it comes to matters of opinion.
