Today’s football game felt like such an uphill battle. When you’re down to 9 players on field due to injury and the opposition resorts to dirty, cheap tactics to win and the ref is blind all fouls against you. It makes you want to hit your head against a wall. Luckily the girls I play with are incredible and we all pulled together to play some brilliant football and not stoop to their level with unsportsmanlike play. Getting a yellow for absolutely nothing however did test my ability to bite my tongue and not argue with the ref. We may have lost by a few goals but we were by far the better team!
Today is the first game of pre season!! I'm really hoping that all the effort i've been putting into my fitness and trying to improve my touch and game play will be evident today. There would only be about 4 (myself included) that would be able to play the full 90 at the moment. Coach said he will be mixing up our positions, I might be moved out of defence to midfield or as a striker! We shall see :)
