one of my favorite things is elves having base 8 math. so you can have Situations™️ when someone in the dragang has a birthday. take for instance this hypothetical

Rayla: I'm so glad my parents and Runaan are back! And just in time for my twenty-fourth birthday!

Callum: your WHAT.

Rayla: My birthday!

Callum: no hold up a second. go back. you're HOW OLD???

Callum: so you were. you were twenty when we first started dating?

Rayla: yes? Is something wrong?

Callum: I was FIFTEEN

Rayla: WHAT?!?!?! How-- who-- what-- I think I'm going to be sick. You seemed older than that! I can't believe I-- so that means now you're--

Callum: Nineteen.

Ok so I don’t know if anyone else is as much of a sucker for statistics as I am, but while my horrible histories obsession has slowly been spiralling out of control I kept wondering who actually has the most songs, because I always felt like half of the songs were sung either by Jim or Mat. And what can I say…I made an excel sheet.

So first to clarify some things (because were doing this properly like they teach at uni so I can pretend like I didn’t spend my last three years doing nothing). For each song each performer falls in one of four categories:

No: The performer doesn’t appear in the song.

Lead Singing: The performer has at least one line that they sing separately from all the other people in the song. This doesn’t mean they have to be the main person singing in the song (e.g. in the monarch’s song all of them would be lead singers).

Backing: The performer sings, but always together with another person.

Acting: The performer appears in the song but can not been seen or heard singing.

Now to the interesting part:

My thesis was in so far confirmed that Jim and Mat really are the two actors appearing most, although surprisingly Ben and Jim perform in roughly the same number (41 and 42). Simon has the least songs with a number of only 21.

Appearances: Lead Singing + Backing + Acting

They also have the most leading parts with a number of 39 and 31. Larry and Ben have the most backing parts with a number of 13 and 11.

Leading: Only Lead Singing

Singing General: Lead Singing + Backing

I’ve added the diagrams with all the actors under the cut for anyone interested.

Normally one should draw a sensible conclusion now, but I really don’t know what this is supposed to tell me apart from the fact that I really need a life and that apparently Mat likes to sing a lot.
