WHY √(2)? I am having such difficulties finding the justification for the √(2) choice for the lowpass filter for Haar/Daubechies Wavelets. Every source I find is like well clearly from the choice of the filters we find these conditions when plotting their finite Fourier series. And i'm like but what if you don't know the filter coefficients?!? WHERE DID THE √(2) come from!?
