Four years ago I made the decision to not go to college and instead pursue music with all of my heart and mind. Let me tell you, it hasn't been easy to keep my nose down and hustle while trying to find myself creatively. At any time I could have picked up and said it was too hard, I could have listened to everyone who told me I was crazy to turn down a scholarship to what I thought was my dream school, but I didn't. Instead, I listened to myself. And listening to myself has made me a great student of life and the world around me. I knew college was not for me, so I made the world my classroom. Of everything I've learned these past four years, failure has been the most rewarding lesson of all. I've failed a lot, and I'm proud to admit it because thanks to that failure I've grown into the artist you hear on this new song The Mad Ones. See, real life doesn't have a schedule, homework, or rules - life is here for the taking, it beats your down and throws curve balls at any moment, but life is here for you to live it, because you only have one and it's short. I've lost friends, family and inspiration in the blink of an eye, and it's made me realize how important it is for us to live for what we believe in and be present. More importantly, it's our duty to stand up for ourselves and beliefs when no one else will. The Mad Ones is a song for you, about my decision to embark on life fearlessly and confidently. The song celebrates the outliers and the dreamers; the ones who are not afraid to fail, the ones crazy enough to believe that their contribution to the world will make a difference; this song is for the mad one in all of us.
