Saxon Math Track
SAXON MATH TRACK
What is the correct order of Saxon Math?
Here is the recommended track from Saxon Publishers:
You will Notice for Accelerated Students you can skip Saxon 8/7
Saxon 8/7 is a transition book. Basically? It’s a REVIEW of Saxon 7/6 (with more in depth problems) as well as a prep for Pre-Algebra. My girls both skipped this altogether and did fine (you can see this in the accelerated column above). If your child struggles with math you might want to have them do this math for 7th grade.

Which Level of Math Should My Child Be In?
Which Level of Saxon Math Should I Put My Child In?
The only way to know for sure is with placement testing. Here are the placement tests provided by the traditional Saxon:
Saxon Placement Test for Grades 1-3
Saxon Placement Test grades 4 to Pre-Algebra
Saxon Placement Test for Algebra 1 (This is the final exam for Pre-Algebra. If they score 85% then they are fine to move on to Algebra 1.)
Saxon Placement Test for Algebra 2 (This is the final exam for Algebra 1. If they score 85% then they are fine to move on to Algebra 2.)

I got a 28 on my math section of the ACT and read that that means I don't have to take the online placement exam. Is there anything that I should do to make sure that I'm all set for math classes or am I automatically placed in one at AOP because of my score?
Yes, students with an ACT Math scores of at least 28 are not required to take the online placement exam. You will be placed into a math course during your AOP.
