Linnea had sat at their usual chess table for quite some time waiting for Matilda, but she never showed. Something which Linnea found rather odd. Matilda had never missed one their chess dates, and with everything that had gone on recently, Linnea was worried. She didn’t know the details but Linnea had heard whisperings of the things that had happened the night of the charity event. Linnea and Matilda had met here by chance and soon found each other to be more than adequate chess opponents.
Without any discussion it had just become a weekly thing, they met here every week on the same day and at the same time and played chess. They had gotten to know each other over the past few weeks and Linnea considered Matilda a friend. A friend she was now worried about. Never having exchanged mobile numbers Linnea headed to her address, remembering a conversation in which Matilda had revealed it.
After knocking for a few minutes without any luck Linnea decided to wait until Matilda’s shift started and headed down to O’Hara’s. Taking a seat at the bar Linnea waiting patiently until Matilda finished serving the other customers. Fortunately, it wasn’t too busy and Linnea didn’t have to wait long. “Hey, I hope you don’t mind me coming here,” Linnea greeted with a friendly smile. “I didn’t see you today and I just wanted to check in, make sure everything was okay.” @matlldalawrence
