King Henryk stood outside on a cold winter day, his thick coat bundled up tightly and his neck properly secured with a red knitted scarf, as he surveyed the intricate window display before him. Andras, one of Henryk’s most trusted guards, kept a respectable distance as the Austrian king studied the different glittering gadgets on display in the shop window. Henryk had promised to stay close to The Thief as he ventured out to run some last minute errands, and he was already beginning to regret the promise he’d made to himself and his entourage. He was down to the wire with his Christmas shopping and was trying to find something fitting for his friend Kai, the New Zealand monarch.
“This is utterly hopeless,” Henryk murmured, more to himself than to his guard, as he placed a gloved hand against the large glass window. To go inside or not? “Shopping for holidays shouldn’t be this difficult.”
