Tonight was emotional for me. I got to see my driver win for possibly the final time. 11 years ago I went and saw the movie Cars and fell in love with the thought of racing. I lived overseas at the time and it was like this touch of Americana, a link to everything I had back home. That fall I sat down in front of my TV and watched my first race, the 2006 fall Dover race. I chose my driver simply cause I liked the colors of the car. Little did I know it would change my life forever. Now 11 years later, living as a superfan, I have been to a number of races, met Matt a number of times and shed numerous tears of both joy and sorrow over a sport and driver that mean so much to me. So Matt I just wanted to say thank you. For being an amazing, talented driver, an inspiration, an extremely nice guy, and over all amazing human. Your fans are some of the most blessed in NASCAR. I made this art piece tonight as a tribute to Matt and my years as a superfan. We love you Matt. Thank you.

A TVD Season 8 Rant

So I am so torn about this season so far! Like I love some of the ideas, but hate they way they are going about it!

First off, screw everyone who decided that it was okay to use Tyler as a vehicle to further damon/the sirens’ story. That was just bullshit. Fans have been waiting for tyler to come back and for him to only be important after he dies is awful. 

I am also sick and tired of there never being any fully human characters who have a simple background in the main cast. Matt has stayed the one human who had no blood ties to all of this, and is simply there because of his friends, but now, again to further the damon/siren story, his long lost and never talked about dad is tied to it all? Gimme a break that is just dumb and makes no sense. 

I like the idea of the sirens, don’t get me wrong it’s an interesting arch and everything, but this is a show that has made it through 8 seasons and deserves to have it’s final season worth while. And so far? The siren plot looks like it’s reaching the climactic fight prior to the tenth episode, which leaves what for the rest of the season? I guess this is what I get for expecting a good send off as a fan.
