Your Neighborhood at a Glance: A Tribute to the Music of Motown at Carnegie Hall
The music of Motown, born in Detroit more than 50 years ago, defined an entire genre of music that was enjoyed by generations and sprung countless number one hits and legendary careers. From The Temptations, to Diana Ross and the Supremes, to Stevie Wonder, to The Jackson 5, the list of music icons and superstars doesn’t seem to end.
In celebrating this beloved brand of music, Carnegie Hall is putting on a special show entitled, A Tribute to the Music of Motown. The performance is on Thursday, February 9th, at 8pm, and is being produced by the current music director of American Idol, Ray Chew. Carnegie Hall is one of the most esteemed music venues in New York City, and this event is being held in the legendary Stern Auditorium/Ronald O. Perelman Stage, which has been host to innumerable historical concerts and events since 1891, and features dazzling acoustics and an excellent seating arrangement.
