“Willie Mae’s” Review.

We've been dying to try this place and thankfully, we finally did!

We went to the St Charles location, I believe there is another elsewhere but I'm unsure where. Two minutes down the road from Loyola University and just before you hit the end, prime location right on St Charles.

The interior looks great. The walls are filled with a variety of paintings for sale, tables and chairs fill the center with a row of walled chairs lining each side. There is also a bar section to eat at too if you'd like. Very nice interior.

Onto the food! I ordered the three fried(the other option is grilled) chicken tenders with a side of mac and cheese. Unknowingly though, the mac and cheese comes with peas. I would've preferred to lose the peas and double the mac and cheese but whatevs. I also tried a bite of their banana bread, it was just okay but a little too dry. The chicken was fantastic, a nice crunchy skin with soft meat inside with a slight spice to it, very pleased with it! The mac and cheese was pretty good also. I'm not a fan of peas but they were there so I downed them anyways. I also ordered their house lemonade, was good!

Overall, I'd definitely recommend Willie Mae's to someone. The establishment itself looks great, the chicken was superb, and the meal sizes were decent. I didn't finish mine so I'll be having the left over tenders for lunch tomorrow.

Only downside for me were the unexpected peas and dry banana bread. Everything else was great!

“Dave & Buster’s” Review.

Arcade with beer and food, what else could you want?

This was my first experience here so I was totally in the dark as what to expect when my partner said it was an arcade for adults. We got there and, unfortunately, there were children running around so it wasn't only just of adults. Kids could come as long as they have parental supervision..which most didn't as they just ran rampant.

Anywho, the games themselves were great. They had a great selection of different genres from shooting games to dance games to racing games to stack-those-damn-block-that's-totally-rigged game. What ever your fancy is when it comes to gaming, you'll definitely find something that you'll enjoy. I was most fond of the Jurassic Park shooter game and this thing where you hit the buttons that lit up on a wall, the latter was played for the pouring of tickets at even the lowest scores scored.

Once you're finished playing, you can go cash in your tickets for some sweet prizes. There's a whole room at the back full of different things. A lot of it is novelty junk, as you'd expect, but there are some potential useful items and cool plushies but they require a larger amount of tickets. We decided to save ours for something bigger in the future.

We didn't actually end up eating or drinking while we were there as we had reservations at another restaurant so I can't comment on that.

Overall, it's your expected arcade but with the option of drinking booze while you play adds to the fun. The only downside is that kids are actually allowed in. It would be five stars if they weren't allowed in.

Miss Fame, sashay away. ~ I'm actually really sad she left. She was the queen I was rooting for before the show and all throughout it. I started rooting for others throughout but always wanted Fame to do well. I'm sad she came 7th but I'm sure she'll be bringing us amazing things in the future. Check out her new song, Rubber Doll!

"Toast" Yelp Review.

We’ve been to Toast twice for breakfast and both times have been fantastic. It’s located a few streets down from Magazine St on the corner of Octavia St and Laurel St so it’s in a fairly nice neighborhood. The building itself is quite small so it doesn’t offer too much indoor seating but there’s both bar seating and tabled seating with table seating located outside also.

My first visit, I ordered the “biscuits with sausage, eggs, grits, and mornay sauce.” It was a very large serving size with the grits in a separate side bowl. The whole meal was very satisfying and delicious, everything was cooked perfectly and tasted great. I actually couldn’t finish it so I ended up taking the leftovers home for a nice lunch. I would definitely recommend this meal to anyone, specifically big eaters.

The second visit, I ordered the “bacon, onion, and cheese crepes” that came with a small side of fruit, I ordered an extra bowl of grits also. Now this meal, I was 100% happy with. The crepe was very cheesy, didn’t have much bacon, and the onion pieces were cut quite large. It still tasted nice and was of a large serving size but it wasn’t what I was expecting. The fruit and grits were fine, no error there.

I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a great breakfast spot. I’d recommend going before 10am as after that, it gets pretty busy. The meal sizes are great so no need to order any extra sides either. Go to Toast and love breakfast again!

Side Blogs.

Hey y'all! So apart from running my own personal blog, I also have two side blogs which I run.

The first and more popular of the two, is dedicated to the beautiful queens of RuPaul's Drag Race. It's called Queens of Drag Race. Here, I'll be posting a bunch of varied media of the gorgeous queens that appear on the show. Definitely worth checking out if you're a huge fan of the show like I am!
