MATTHEW S.O.A.P. ~ CHAPTER 12

SCRIPTURE:
"A battered reed He will not break off, And a smoldering wick He will not put out, Until He leads justice to victory. And in His Name the Gentiles will hope.” ~ Matthew 12:20-21
OBSERVATION:
In all my self-sufficiency and "strength" - if I'm not in truth a battered reed - often a self-battered reed - who is? And yet... He won't "break me off..."
Am I merely smoldering when I should be "aflame..."?
Justice to victory... God's holiness - His justice - His judgement of me because of my sinfulness - is led to victory - Jesus's victory - over that sin - my sin...
"And in His Name I will hope..."
APPLICATION:
Live in His care...
Stoke the fire... live aflame for Him...
Live humbly and gratefully justified...
Be hopeful in His Name...
PRAYER:
Loving Father - I confess trying to live in my own strength too often - and offer my thanks for Your Son's tender care of my brokenness... I ask that You allow Your spirit to fan my smoldering to a flame that shines for You in the darkness and allows me to see Your way and will - and for others to not stumble on their path to You as well... Thank You for Jesus's victory over my sin that allows me to enter into Your presence to offer worshipful praise and thanksgiving... hopefully... in His Name....
