I was looking at Ceris Donovan's Twitter and from there went down the rabbit hole and came across Matthew Barrow in a costume photo I cannot identify. I can't link it (grr, tumblr). Is there a wild man in Hannibal? I don't recall there being one in the past. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you so very much!
The male ensemble costumes in Hannibal includes the Soldiers, the Lion Man, the Slavemaster and the Gollywogs. And of course featured roles like Hannibal, Reyer, Lefèvre and the Managers. The costume he’s wearing is however looking more like a male version of the Wild Woman - just as you suggest.
My best guesses is that he’s goofing around (note the yellow T-shirt, and his caption “Thank God it’s Sunday”). I wanna say the costume may belong to the Lion Man or Wild Woman, and ditto for the wig (Wild Woman, that is).
Side note, Ceris Donovan’s Twitter is internet’s finest rabbit hole :D
