Thirty-three years didn't seem like much, but the hands of a man chained by that time were full of the baggage of regrets. Life didn't look the way he imagined it, everyone says that is usually the case, but it was worse. He lived a fast, greedy, carefree life, relying on his manipulative skills, charm, good looks and fleeting popularity. He thought he was the smartest, definitely brighter than those who were left sitting at the worn desks of the college... today, unhappily married, with a bad job, empty pockets that didn't feed his addictions and withering good looks, he was boiling in his own cauldron of hell.
Matthew rubbed his face trying to clear his sight, but the alcohol made rocked the ground under his feet, like a ship caught in a storm, Pressing his back on the wall and sliding down to the floor, with hand still gripping the bottle of top shelf whiskey that he needed to play with a credit card that should have been cut in half long ago, just to feel the same rush of the golden time of his youth. “ You are insane for what you crave...fucking crazy. “
Scoffing the man hung his head as if it was a heavy burden of his neck, devastation consuming his senses. He never allowed someone to see him at his lowest, bare to the bone with his shame. Specially not the women he had on the side. “ Romance? A charade...love? Prison. Why do you want that Georgia? To throw away your life..for nothing? Like I did..”
