REFLECTION – “Please be bold, because when we pray we usually have a need.   The friend is God – He is a rich friend who has bread, He has what we need.   As Jesus said – “In prayer be intrusive.   Do not get tired.”   But do not get tired of what?   Of asking. “Ask and it will be given to you”.”…Pope Francis – Santa Marta, 11 October 2018

PRAYER – Heavenly Father, with confidence we pray, for in Your bounty Lord, You give us all we need.   You hear our plea and grant us our needs.   You give us the Spirit, who alone can teach us to think and do what is right, so that we, who without You cannot exist, may live in loving obedience to Your Will.   Hear the prayers of Blessed Giacomo Cusmano on our behalf and add them to our own imperfect petitions.   Through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, with the Holy Spirit, God forever, amen.

“Ask and it will be given to you; search and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. Everyone who asks receives; everyone who searches finds; everyone who knocks will have the door opened.”…Matthew 7:7-8

REFLECTION – “Christ, like a skillful physician, understands the weakness of men.   He loves to teach the ignorant and the erring He turns again, to His own true way. He is easily found by those who live by faith and to those of pure eye and holy heart, who desire to knock at the door, He opens immediately.”….St Hippolytus

PRAYER – Lord God, Your Son has told us, ‘to knock and the door shall be opened’ – help us to be ever strong in faith that we may remember and trust that You will always open the door if we turn to You, at all times and in all circumstances, in true faith, hope, trust and love. Faith

Today’s Scripture “Keep on asking and it will be given to you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking [reverently] and [the door] will be opened to you.” (Matthew 7:7, AMP) Press Through In Mark, chapter five, there was a woman who had been sick for twelve years. The doctors gave her no hope. When she heard that Jesus was coming through her town, something deep on the inside said to her, “This is your season. This is your time to get well.” In the natural, when she saw all the people around Him, she thought, “I’ll never get to Him. It’s so crowded and I’m weak. I just don’t think I can do this.” She almost missed her season. But instead of dwelling on those negative thoughts, she started reminding herself, “If I can just get to Jesus, I will be whole.” She made the choice to turn her thoughts in the right direction. She kept pressing her way through the crowd until she got just close enough to Jesus to reach out and touch the edge of His robe. Instantly, she was made whole. Jesus said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well.” Notice it’s our faith that activates God’s power. If you’ve been standing and belieivng for a while, don’t give up! Press through! Keep praying! Keep asking! Keep seeking, and He’ll meet your faith with His miraculous power! A Prayer for Today “Father, I come to You today with an open and humble heart.
