Since you said your inbox is always open for requests, may I suggest... Some demon!Natemare vs angel!Matt

It can be anything, really, I've been thinking about angel!Matt a lot

I still need to restore my energy from last week, as is normal for me, but I appreciate the thoughts! :D

This took me a while to find time to actually sit down and write, but I hope you enjoy this little one-off where Mare whisks Matt away.

It also had me thinking I wanna go back to my Demon AU, so there's that

Everybody knew of Natemare, one of the most powerful demons to exist. With his deep purple horns and matching wings, clawed fingers and an almost ghostly ability to pass through dreams, he was the demon all angels feared.

Every demon knew of Matt, the quiet angel whose bronze wings could make any human fall to their knees for him. With amber eyes and a soft nature, his cheerful voice and questionable morals had Natemare wanting to see him in a more… private setting.

Most angels knew not to leave the clouds during a New Moon. Without a moon to guide them, angels had the potential to get lost, so even angels who were already out would hide away for the duration of the night rather than try to navigate a way home.

The New Moon was also the prime time for demons to wreak havoc on the mortal plane. Shadow shifting could be used to an advantage, and with the darkness surrounding them it was easy to tempt a few humans from the righteous path.

Matt knew the rules, but he hadn’t checked the phase chart before heading out, and was now lost in a seedy town with no moon to guide his way home. Somewhere behind him he could hear the demons running amok already, and his wings stuttered as fear started to set in.

“Are you lost, little angel?” A voice called from thin air before cold fingers encased in soft skin were grabbing his arms and forcing him to fly downwards into an abandoned apartment building, night air slicing against his face making his eyes water. “You seem cold, Matt.”

“H-How do you--?” His question cut off as cold lips met his, tenderly caressing his mouth as those same cold hands cradled his cheeks to force his head to the side, deepening the kiss until Matt’s knees buckled.

In the darkness of the moonless night and abandoned apartment, Matt couldn’t make out the face of his companion, cheeks going red as the silhouette of horns and bat-like wings became clearer. No sooner had he realised a demon was standing before him, the demon vanished, leaving no trace other than the tingling in Matt’s lips and the faint purple shimmer on his arms where he had been grabbed.

Covering his mouth with both hands as he fell to his knees, Matt felt hot tears welling in his eyes, moving one hand to clutch at his chest as he felt his heart fluttering. Closing his eyes against the tears, Matt could almost picture the demon who’d kissed him: purple horns and wings, tattooed arms with leather bracelets on his wrists, soft shirt almost as dark as his hair… and shimmering purple eyes that seemed to see everything.

“Oh, gods above,” Matt gasped, curling into a ball to wait out the night as guilt and shame warmed his cheeks. “I kissed Natemare…” The final thought remained unspoken, but Matt knew it in his heart: he liked kissing the demon, liked the feel of his hands on him.
