theodora is very grateful she wasn’t asked to work this party. partially because she was now able to participate in it, but also because it seemed like a NIGHTMARE of an event to bartend. it gave her the freedom to be social, but someone standing beside her was making that quite difficult. “am i your caretaker for the night, or what? usually you ditch me the second we get to a party. what, was emilia busy or something and couldn’t make it?”

“uh ... excuse me?” florencia is quiet. far too SHY to be asking a random person at the blockbuster for help. “are you, um, are you a horror fan by any chance? my brother... he, uh, he asked me to find him a good scary movie and i just, um, don’t know where to start.”

        (  @mattysfm​  !  )    ‘  mommy !  ’   the  ring  of  their  girl’s  voices  stand  out  in  the  street  ,   sabrina  herself  bundled  up  in  a  hat  and  scarf  -  she  always  was  the  type  to  get  cold  quite  easily  .   and  despite  the  fact  that  the  last  time  matty  and  sabrina  were  alone  together   (  ignoring  the  awkward  drop  off  of  wanda  and  daisy  at  his  for  a  day  )  ,   she  welcomes  the  sight  of  the  trio  .    ‘  you  two  look  like  you  had  fun  -  ’   sabrina  says  ,   ruffling  wanda’s  hair  as  daisy  launches  into  a  new  story  time  to  wanda  .   it  gives  sabrina  a  moment  to  look  at  matty  ,   rub  the  back  of  her  head  .  

       he  looks  good  ,   she  won’t  deny  that  ,   and  there’s  a  tiny  part  of  her  that  whispers :   this is what you always wanted  .   a  family  ,   the  girls  to  have  a  mom  and  a  dad  that  got  along  ;   but  ,   she’s  smarter  than  that  ,   smarter  than  to  trust  matty  right  away  .   instead  she’ll  shake  her  head  ,   offer  a  small  smile  ,   something  of  a  truce  .    ‘  so  -  i  hope  i’m  not  underdressed  for  this  dinner  you  have  planned  .  ’
