Copperhead Masterpiece [Comfort Fic]
Summary: Maude has a nightmare, and she feels like everything is caving down on her.
Marjorine Candace Figgle was born January 13th to Madison and Ray Figgle. Both of her parents where workaholics and was mostly left in the care of her grandmother, Agnes.
She lived in London for most of her life, and liked the idea of traveling. However, as she go older she got comfortable in her little apartment.
Maude has dark brown eyes, as well as dark brown hair.
She's incredibly intelligent, and has her bachelor's degree in Chemistry, as well as biological science.
Maude is roughly in her early thirties, but I am not sure what her age should be.
Her father used to put really high expectations on her, which caused her to go into a depression in high-school, and to this day, Maude still has doubts on whether or not she's good enough.
Maude was friends with Willy during her time in London, and they were extraordinarily close. Willy and Maude were a dynamic duo, making weird experiments together. Willy was frankly a germaphobe so whenever Maude was experimenting with roadkill (yes she would do that..) Will would just sit back and watch. Maude encouraged Willy to try some chocolate, and what do you know, he actually became hooked.
Despite being incredibly intelligent, Maude has ADHD, and it causes her to be extremely distracted. If she wants to stay focused, she has to chew on a piece of gum. It has been her coping mechanism since she was a young.
Will used to hate Maude's habit of chewing on gum, but as time progressed, he got used to it up until she left the company.
Maude likes to knit and play the violin. She plays it whenever she's feeling sad, and it's usually in a minor key. When she's knitting, she's usually very happy.
Maude became Charlie's chemistry teacher, when she moved back to London a few years back. She loves Charlie very much, and she's very sympathetic to his family's situation. She became close to the Buckets after a Parent-teacher conference about Charlie's grades.
Maude was married once before to a man named Ron Duncan. He was incredibly abusive to her, both emotionally and physically. She had met Ron when she was working with Willy in the factory, and she sort of fell in love with him.
Willy didn't seem to like Ron at all. At this time, he was in denial about feeling anything towards Maude, and passed it off as some strange feeling. He saw how blindly happy Maude was, and wanted her to feel like that all the time. Eventually, Ron proposed to Maude, and she said yes.
Will helped Maude with the wedding, despite feeling awfully depressed about the whole ordeal. During this time, candy sales began to fail, as well as some major thievery. Ron, of course, was in on the taking. He stole Maude's and Willy's ideas right under their noses.
A year in their marriage, and Maude was already miserable. Ron had a short temper, and kept wanting more from Maude. He'd hurt her if he didn't get his way. She'd walk into the factory with sunglasses or goggles on to hide the shiners around her eyes. She distanced herself from Willy every day, so that he wouldn't see how Ron treated her.
When Ron opened up his new candy shop, that was the only time Maude saw him happy, the idea of the candy shop wasn't even his. He took away all her passion for candy. One day, Ron asked her to leave Wonka's business forever.
Maude refused. Unfortunately, her standing up to him made Ron, even more angry. He broke her arm that night, and did other horrendous things to convince her otherwise. She finally agreed.
That very day, Willy Wonka shut down his factory forever.
Maude was sent into a great depression. She wouldn't speak to Ron, unless he made her. Her arm was put into a cast. She absolutely despised her husband.
After Wonka's factory closed, Ron's business began to boom. Everyone seemed to want Ron's bootleg Wonka bars, however Maude had a plan to sabotage his business. After a newstory got out about Ron, putting rat poison in the chocolate. His business seemed to be under fire.
One night, he felt like the world was out to get him. There were so many stories about his chocolate being awful. He looked to Maude for some sympathy. Unfortunately, the only thing he got that night were divorce papers.
As well as the prenup, Maude and him signed on their wedding night. She received half of a million dollars during the divorce. Maude donated most of it to charities around the world. She also used it to get her teaching certification.
Once Ron's business ran into the ground, Wonka's factory had smoke coming from the chimneys.
Maude had reunited with Willy, once Charlie won the factory.
As for Willy and Maude's relationship now, they're still getting used to being around each other again. Despite years being apart, Willy still has those strong feelings for Maude.
Willy is very happy that Ron is finally out of Maude's life, but he's completely unaware of the trauma Ron put her through.
Maude needs some time to adjust, but slowly she's finding her passion for candy making.
