Second Chance Brewing’s 3rd Anniversary Imperial Pilsner w/ Maui Brewing (Picked up at Windmill Farms). A 3 of 4. Light and clean, as you would expect, and the jasmine flowers add a great floral and slightly tropical quality in the nose. Some slightly vegetal qualities as well, but has a nice light grain sweetness throughout and is quite refreshing.

MANGO Hefeweizen / Maui Brewing (Hawaii, USA) マンゴーを副原料に使用したヘーフェヴァイツェン。マンゴーの香りとクローブの両立したアロマに、しっかりとしたボディ、苦味、そしてジューシーな味わいが感じられる。フィニッシュまでマンゴーの香りが続くものの甘味はそれほど強く印象に残らず、むしろ苦味のほうが強めに出ている気がする。

What? I’m just having a beer with my friend Winterman, the warm soul behind @wintermanworld - a talented illustrator of international reach. Yes, international, because see he just reached from Japan to Switzerland! As I just moved into a new home his welcome wishes arrived at the best time possible, so let me thank him once again, wish him all the best and recommend his funny and warm illustrated characters - yeah just go have a look (he’s got a website and shop as well), you’ll HAVE to smile!

Ah yes and that beer - the Bikini Lager from Maui wasn’t up to the task unfortunately. Average at best, some watered down sweetish bread maybe should have been enjoyed on the beach. At home in the evening it was more a meh. But don’t worry, nothing could have ruined the fun of having those Green FAM characters smiling at me! Cheers, Winterman!

Maui Brewing’s Blood Orange Lorenzini Double IPA (Picked up Quality Liquor Store in San Diego). A 3 of 4. Lots of orange and tropical notes up front with a big sweetness. Not aggressively bitter at any point, but the sweetness does fade and this is quite nicely balanced. Lots of orange all around. Solid.

Big Swell IPA / Maui Brewing (Hawaii, USA) シトラスライクな柑橘アロマがあり、口に含むとほのかなジューシーさと強いグレープフルーツ、シトラスのフレーバーが感じられる。苦味優勢だがキツすぎる感じはなく刺すようでもない。フィニッシュも鮮やかでキレが良い。非常に優れたIPAだ。このブルワリーのIPAやペールエールはやはり缶のデザインが変わって一段と美味しくなったと思う。

Pueo Pale Ale / Maui Brewing (Hawaii, USA) とても豊かなシトラス、パインを思わせるホップフレーバー。やや苦味強めでボディは軽く、飲みくちがかなりジューシーなので飲み応えもあり、味わいも非常に良い。フィニッシュも綺麗で、オレンジを齧ったような果実感が残るが渋味は無い。とても美味しい。最近のMauiというか缶リリースメインになってからのこのブルワリー本当にハズレがなくてどれもたいへんおいしい。
