Yugo capture K98 Mauser
Something I got myself for Christmas. This rifle began as a German K98, then was "captured" by Yugoslavia post WWII. Yugoslavia was given thousands of rifles as well as the German machinery for production of the Mauser K98 following the war. The Yugoslavians would change a few things creating the M48 Mauser, but some rifles, like this one would for the most part retain original parts. Usually, the major parts replaced were the stock and the barrel, but the Yugoslavians would also "scrub" and remark the rifles. This one however, retains two German Waffenant inspection marks on the sear.
