Really!?!? That sucks cause that is arguably his best movie. Def contender for best imo. I suppose shining is his most famous, and is likely what people think of when they think of kubrick movies, but paths of glory is to me his best. Certainly the best ww1 movie, if not best war movie.
its such a weird concept too. like i went to public school, i didnt get any better education than anyone else, but i was always ready to vote. i knew how consequential it was to vote. i feel bad for these kids that dont know that. its their future. its such a hokey thing to say, but i really believe it. we have a responsibility to vote. its a privilege and honor to do it. and its pathetic that people just waste that. and usually against their own interests.
i always knew voting was NOT a sprint, it was a marathon. and sometimes you HAVE to vote for people you dont really like.
i was so upset that john kerry was the candidate, but my ass voted for him. and im feeling the same way with biden now. fuck! but again, my ass will be there and vote for whoever it is. ugh.

i’ve worked on political organizing most of my adult life and yeah a lot of people fundamentally can’t think about their individual power relations that’s why it’s important to ground change in the retail politics of how something tangible gets better rather than abstract social change
i agree! tbh sometimes it feels more like a reluctance to think abt them rather than an inherent inability. to acknowledge what we have unfairly benefited from would mean that we have to do better. and it would mean that the status we’ve taken for granted thus far is fundamentally meaningless. thats what ppl are constantly pushing back against it feels like
