on my second listen through of all of naddpod and i'm finally listening to twilight sanctorum
i skipped it the first time around bc i was focusing on ba2mia in order to catch up before the finale dropped (which i did hehe)
but i'm so glad i'm listening to twilight sanctorum this time around, it's so fucking funny but also sweet? they're a family and the dynamics are hilarious and devastating at the same time
murph as frankie vantasmo feels like the culmination of all the characters murph loves to play, and tbh it seems like the dice agree! i think he rolled more natural 20s in these four episodes than he's ever rolled playing any other characters. also just. perfect voice and mannerisms
caldwell as penny is in top form as an absolute dweeb. overbearing father, cheerful son, snubbed ex-husband... he has it all, and still manages to make time to do classic caldwell goofs, like eating an encoded thought or asking if he can use a painting as a parachute
jake as mavid... honestly what can even be said here. probably his only character who is not classically hot in any way, shape, or form. a voice that scrapes my eardrums. rarely makes a good choice and goes out of his way to be a problem for his dad and granddad. incredible
and our dungeon docent emily is, as always, brilliant and having a blast while telling a great story in an awesome setting

Just listened to NADDPOD’s Twlight Santorum and while all of the characters were hilarious, I’ve got to admire Jake’s / Mavid’s commitment to making the worst but most in character choices. Running out to pick up a random plus one that is kinda sorta the main villain of the campaign. Purposefully trying to turn into a ghoul. Freg. Trying to steal literally everything that wasn’t tied down in the Living in Harmony house. Amazing. That’s character work.
when mavid vantasmo said "why won't you guys just let me live my dream of hangin' out and doing whatever?" that really spoke to me on a deep level
Frankie Vantasmo probably cries after sex, but alone and locked in the bathroom, and only after eating you out for, like, an hour.
Penny, meanwhile, cries during sex and also will not put his weird puppet in a drawer or closet or something.
Mavid... I don't even know. But it's not good. Unless you're the old man at the party who was so charmed by him, and in that case, sex with Mavid is a bizarre and satisfying experience.
