The name Mavis inspired some vague recollection in him when he had first read it, not unusual enough for him to ponder too much on the why. There wasn't technically a vacancy open at the club but he liked to advertise as such to keep his present staff on their toes. If he happened across someone he thought would be a good fit, he would find the payroll if it meant more money coming in.
At the knock on his office door, he put down the resume he had been scanning with some curiosity and beckoned the potential hire in from behind his desk.
"It's open, come in."
