I really recommend Max Ellendales Four Point Trilogy and Four Point Universe series. She writes about strong women healing their trauma in such a way that multiple times in my life its helped me to understand my own and others trauma.
She is an amazing writer imo but she also is I believe psychologist in real life or something similar.(I’m blanking atm so don’t quote me in it) So she does actually understand what she shows in her books.
The first time I read them I was learning who I was and for once acknowledging my own trauma. I spent 29 years of my life pretending I was ok until her books. Thats how much they impacted me. I am reading them again now and its healing me so much.
Her books are primary LGBTQ+ focused. This series is crime/thriller with romance interwoven in them and her other series which I haven’t read myself are sci-fi/fantasy with romance interwoven. All I believe are WlW stories and I loved them as a women and now as I trans man I love them even more.
Her works all have sex scenes but they are done sensually, with respect and help each person heal. I never once thought the scenes felt out of character or just added to add.
The four point trilogy especially has some intense themes, light kink/bdsm in some of the four point universe series books as it attains to the characters. I can’t recommend her work enough.
Which also reminds me of L.M Juniper. His book How We End is amazing. Also a must read or listen to as the audio book for it is beyond my favorite and the narrator’s really pull you into the story.
Finally able to read books from amazon kindle since they have a Black Friday deal for 99c. Its been over a year since I could afford to read anything.
Breaking it in by reading my favorite authors Four Point Trilogy. If Max Ellendale writes anymore books I’ll instantly be getting them always.
I really should not let myself read books especially my favorites at night cuz yeah most nights it helps me fall asleep pretty fast but some nights like tonight I don’t wanna sleep because the books sooooo goooood.
There is something about laying in the dark with lofi in the background just relaxing as I read.
What’s a meaningful book or film that’s changed your perspective?
It would have to be Max Ellendales book Entanglement! Honestly her four point books and the four point universe books all really impacted me. She handled sapphic relationships healing through their trauma in such a way that it helped me with my own. I have prob read her books 20+ times each no lie lol
The first three books, the four point trilogy are more crime/mystery and darker trauma focused with some sapphic love mixed in but the other books are a lot lighter and I honestly recommend them all. Entanglement being my absolute favorite ☺️
Highly recommend this book for my fellow middle aged late bloomer sapphics. Just finished it, and it was a fantastic read! (TW for flashbacks to domestic violence and PTSD)
Moonflower, a book by Max Ellendale - History collides with the present in this heartwarming story of love and friendship.
