Cole Squared: I feel like this is the big obvious one and anyone who's talked to me about BU hockey before knows just how much I ship these two. In my mind they are both hopelessly stupid yet deeply in love with each other, and there really is no one else who matches each other's freaks quite like they do. I mean Cole Hutson literally has met Eiserman nieces who call him their "best friend" and the two are together all the time, and then they're roommates, the Coffee TikTok, the years they've played together, etc. No one is doing it quite like the Coles at BU! Why they are not a bigger thing I have no clue. Everyone is sleeping on this epic love story!
Aiden Celebrini/Max Lacroix: the eldest Celebrini with a flawless reputation and the nepo back-up goalie with the heart of gold happen to actually be friendly in real life, are both juniors with legacies they're not quite upholding, and would be just so cute together. They're just so happy to be here and it shows! I've shipped them before, I'll ship them again - plus, seeing them play live, they're all chatty on the bench. We love a sweet friendship that can be twisted into romance!
Aiden Celebrini/Quinn Hutson: with that being said, before Max, I highly considered Aiden with the eldest Hutson. There's so many parallels there between their trajectories, they majored in the same thing at school so I imagine they probably took a ton of classes together, and one day they'll both be playing up in Canada. There's no reason to think their paths might not cross in the pros just like it did at BU. Also, Quinn looks about as happy as your average Hutson, so the thought of him being melted by Aiden's sweetness is just something that I wouldn't pass up writing about.
Aiden Celebrini/Cole Hutson: I truly just want Cole with Cole Eiserman, but one of his repeatedly featured players in Cole's TikToks happens to be one Aiden Celebrini, which is kind of adorable? So in a world where Cole Eiserman runs off with Macklin Celebrini or Teddy Stiga, Cole Hutson can find solace with Aiden, until he finds out that Aiden's made out with his older brother, to which he can have an appropriate meltdown over.
Shane Lachance/Mikhail Yegorov: this one is a tale about star-crossed lovers. Shane is stupidly handsome and also 6'5'', and then you have Mikhail showing up last year midway through the season to lead BU almost to glory. He's your typical hilariously sarcastic, uber smart, and also very weird goalie, and Shane, one of the two old co-captains, extended a ton of kindness to him (Mikhail mentions he insisted they eat together the first night Mikhail was at BU). When they lost the Frozen Four the first person Shane skated to was Mikhail, where we have that tender moment of the two of them touching helmets. Plus they're both Devils prospects, so the star-crossed comes in to play with the fact that they're meant to be together again in the future. Could you blame Mikhail for giving his heart to a guy like Shane? I couldn't!
Kamil Bednarik/Teddy Stiga: I know Teddy is a BC player, but the two of them were dumb about each other at the NDTP, and Teddy is all in Kamil's comments straight to this day, and they're both currently slated for WJs. Also I just want Kamil to put Teddy through a wall. Teddy is a Masshole, Kamil is spicy too, let them destroy each other because they can't quite put their feelings into words (also, we have "all right now Theodore", which screams).
As a bonus, a player I really like: Mick Frechette! He’s Aiden’s d-partner, is kinda just doing his thing, and vibes well with the other junior boys. In my mind he’s a supportive bestie to his boy Aiden. They have great on ice chemistry and were quite chummy off shift, plus they butt tap a ton so who doesn’t love that??
