Saw Death To All live the other week (Death tribute composed partly of old Death members) and was frankly blown away.
Some impressions:
1) cannot overemphasize how much i love the stripped-down type of show that's common with death & black metal. Fuck yeah put 3-4 guys (gn) on a stage with a backdrop that's just the band logo and let them play back-to-back songs with no crowd banter. Back to basics baby;
2) nearly had an aneurysm seeing Steve DiGiorgio play bass live. oh my god where does he get off playing with so much ease and economy of movement, it's borderline obscene. experienced shrimp emotions just looking at it. watch that right hand and tell me that's normal:
2) i was unaware Max Phelps was such a cutie. Yeah yeah groundbreaking songs death metal legends living history yadda yadda, but just look at him:
i wanna pet him like you'd pet a dog
