trying to write historically accurate book thief fanfic is just trying to figure out what likely would have happened to Max Vandenburg from Fall 1942-Spring 1945, the literature telling me, “yeah he definitely would’ve been sent East” and me yelling back “PLEASE, THIS MAN HAS BEEN IN ENOUGH SITUATIONS, HE IS NOT ALSO GOING TO POLAND.”
