This is a story of hope that follows two decades of struggle. Urinary issues in women—an often misunderstood challenge. Recently, at Max Super Speciality Hospital in Lucknow, we treated a 52-year-old woman who had been suffering from a persistently slow urinary stream. She strained to urinate, often taking up to 30 minutes to release just a few drops of urine, experienced severe pain during urination, felt a constant sense of incomplete bladder emptying, and had frequent urination during the day (20 times) and night (10 times), along with recurrent UTIs. After multiple unsuccessful treatments and being told surgery would likely fail or lead to incontinence, she underwent a carefully planned and complex procedure for complete urethral dense stricture from meatus (external opening) to bladder neck. "Ventral Buccal Graft Urethroplasty with Martius Interposition Flap" This surgical technique involved reconstructing the urethra using a graft from the inner cheek and a vascular support flap to ensure healing. Today, she's free from pain, able to void comfortably in seconds, and has returned to a normal, independent life—a remarkable change that highlights the significance of accurate diagnosis and specialized care. 🌟 The patient consents to share her story. 📺 Media Coverage & Patient Story: ▶️ Watch on YouTube: 🔗 https://youtu.be/U0ca2GnLogs?si=v6dmhiEF6Hp7159C&utm_source=Tumblr 📰 Read the news article (Dainik Bhaskar): 🔗 https://dainik.bhaskar.com/5MpVqhrxBTb?utm_source=Tumblr I sincerely thank the dedicated urology team and Max leadership for providing best-in-class infrastructure for supporting such complex urological work.
