For some strange reason the belief [in the aswang] has never been explored for its usefulness in the field of literature or social studies. Even educators shy away from it, branding the belief as superstitious and therefore not to be perpetuated. While this view is entertained, however, there is continued use in the schools--- including the nursery school--- of Western tales like 'Hansel and Gretel,' 'Rapunzel,' 'Snow White,' and so forth, dealing with witches, dwarfs, and other people of lower mythology. It is sad to note that while we accept these stories as entertaining to our children, we reject our own folktales about equivalent characters as superstitious and undesirable.

Pilar and her boys celebrating Alejandro’s 3rd birthday :)
,,Today you are 7 years old and I can already write to you, because you are already beginning to understand and recognize what surrounds you. Always awake, always attentive, always smiling. Congratulations, Nano, not just on your birthday, but on being the oldest child that all parents would want to have. With your example, kindness and affection you wrap your brothers and fill us with emotion. May you continue to grow healthy, strong and, above all, happy and always by our side. We love you madly, #SergioJr. Pilar, my love, you have not been able to be for work, but you are always there. Happy birthday, #SergioJr! ❤️💜❤️” - Sergio
