I still love these mid-'90s Battle Babes comics. They really did become their own subgenre, featuring amazonian heroines -- usually very, um, OVER-DRAWN -- battling foes with broadswords and other medieval weaponry. You'll often see them derided today as juvenile cheesecake fantasies, but they were a fun alternative to over-pumped male superheroes knocking each other around. These were mostly indie titles, and you can still pick up action figures of their title characters very inexpensively.
