Maximum Ride Movie
September 23, 2016
Oh boy.... It seems that whenever I really love the book that a movie is based off of, the movie disappoints me. First Percy Jackson and now Maximum Ride.
Gods, I loved the Maximum Ride books. My dog’s name is Maximum Secret, named after the books and a KPOP group. Fang was my favorite character, of course.
Anyway, this isn’t about the books and my love for them. This is about the disappointment of a movie that I just watched. Screenwriters, directors, and producers please explain something to me. Why the Hades do you decide to make a movie based on a book and throw out the book? Your plot has been written and you have the “script”. Why do you write your own that is horrible when the fans compare the movies to the books. Harry Potter movies stayed fairly in tune with the books and look how well they did! Percy Jackson did NOT go in tune with the books and completely sucked.
Clearly this was a low-budget movie. I get that, funds are essential to good movies. The actors are novice actors and the effects are... well crap. I can get over newbie actors, if they make the character feel alive. Max was dead emotionally. Fang’s actor did a fairly well job but he was... unFangy or I just need to reread the books again. Everyone was awkward and unnatural. You could tell that they were just playing a character.
All in all, I was highly disappointed with this movie even though I was extremely excited about it before watching it. After waiting as long as I did for the movie, it was a complete let down.
And if I offend anybody, I really don’t care. Life is too short to get butthurt because someone has a different opinion from your own.
