who cooks meals for the other?
skylar, more often than not. stephen still calls his dads for instructions on how to boil pasta, so he tries to avoid anything beyond a microwave. they live on takeout, quick meals, and anything sky can conjure in their lackluster kitchen. he's grateful that at least some of them can produce edible meals, and he's been more interested in learning by "supervising", which is really distracting the cook with puppy dog eyes and wandering hands as they try to meal prep.
who spams the other with memes?
both. they're known meme hoarders, constantly exchanging cat content and videos that remind them of each other for reasons only they understand. their text thread is 90% shared content and 10% actual conversation.
who likes to tidy around the house?
skylar. stephen can live in chaos and still insist he can find everything that he needs (he can't). sky tolerates most of it, but organizes things that she can, and he's picked up (some) good habits over the past year. he's moved his shoes from doorways, at least.
who likes to play pranks on the other?
stephen. he has years of practice of being the prankster in his family home, but his pranks with sky are more desperate bids for attention disguised as humor. he's changed phone autocorrect settings, rearranged her gaming setup slightly, and once convinced her that jojo had learned to open the fridge (he'd been opening it himself and blaming the cat for a week). low stakes jokes for the chance of making her laugh or simply glance his way.
who asked the other to move in with them?
they've been roommates, so they already technically live together. they also keep their separate spaces, needing their own workstations for their passions (his music, her gaming), though clothes and various personal items are shared across bedrooms. with graduation approaching, steph would ask her to 'move in', needing to name the thing they'd already become.
who is in charge of the music during a car ride?
stephen, though he's open to suggestions. music is his thing, and will fight whoever he needs to for the aux cord. luckily, sky understands and is happy to see him light up when his favorite songs come on. they do have several shared playlists, so that tends to be on rotation to satisfy both parties.
who is more likely to tickle the other mercilessly?
stephen. he's discovered every ticklish spot sky has and deploys this knowledge with gleeful cruelty whenever she's winning an argument, ignoring him for too long, or just existing peacefully in his vicinity. though sky usually wins the aftermath, when stephen's too tired to resist her counter-attack.
who needs to hold the other during scary movies?
stephen, and he does so without shame. he refuses to watch horror alone but insists on watching it with sky because she seems unaffected and he needs someone to cling to.
who has to help the other when it comes to technology?
skylar, mainly only for anything beyond social media. stephen is great at editing a tiktoks and curating an instagram aesthetic. he's just clueless on anything useful, like troubleshooting the wifi and updating software. his internet goblin girlfriend fixes everything while stephen hovers and asks too many questions. she's also the one who set up their smart home devices, which stephen still doesn't fully understand but insists is magic.
who likes to get a bit frisky in public / an inappropriate setting?
both, but in different ways. stephen is the instigator. he's handsy by nature, and his version of 'subtle pda' is not at all subtle. sky is the escalator. she'll match his energy and then some, so suddenly stephen is the one blushing and struggling to focus. they've been banned from one corner of their apartment by eric specifically because he's 'seen things'.
who wakes up first, and do they wake up the other or let them rest?
skylar wakes first almost always and lets steph rest, or tries to. the problem is that steph, even unconscious, senses when she's no longer in bed and reaches for her in his sleep, making wounded noises until she comes back. she has learned to extricate herself slowly and leave a pillow in her place to avoid any issues.
who is always taking pictures of the other when they aren’t looking?
both because they're equally obsessed and bad at hiding it. steph's camera roll is 70% chaotic candid shots of sky. he posts some of them (with permission), saves others for himself, and has a hidden folder titled "reasons" that he looks at when he's missing her, even if she's just in the other room.
who always forgets their wallet and never ends up paying for anything?
stephen. he's extremely disorganized and his wallet can be anywhere from the bottom of the laundry pile to on top of the litter genie. he's also not above using his charm to avoid paying for things either. sky has covered more boba tea runs than they can count. he's learned to rely on her or use apple pay.
who can’t sleep because the other snores or moves too much at night?
skylar because stephen sleeps like he's possessed. he moves, he mumbles, he reaches for her like he's checking she's still there, and he occasionally sings in his sleep. also the cats don't help, appearing both seemingly everywhere and nowhere in the darkness. the first few months of sharing a bed are an adjustment for sky while stephen has the best rest of his life.
who is better at video games, and do they let the other win or show no mercy?
sky and she shows no mercy. she's a true gamer, stephen is not. his favorite game is probably flappy bird, and he hasn't done anything on a console since wii sports. when they play together, sky doesn't hold back. she'll destroy him at mario kart without a second thought. stephen doesn't mind losing. he loves watching her win. he'd lose a thousand times to keep seeing her in her element.
who always gets up in the middle of the night to use the restroom and accidentally wakes up the other?
stephen, because he can't do anything quietly. he'll trip over something, stub his toe, knock a guitar off its stand, and yelp loudly enough to wake the cats, sky, eric and possibly their neighbors. this occurs at least once a week.
