JAMES BEAUFORT and RUBY BELL Maxton Hall - S01E02
This pink gown, adorned with delicate white lace, first appeared in 2008 worn by Iris Berben as Elisabeth “Bethsy” Buddenbrook in 𝑩𝒖𝒅𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒃𝒓𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒔: 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑫𝒆𝒄𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒂 𝑭𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒚. It returned in 2012, worn by Katharina Rivilis, portraying German Crown Princess Victoria, also known as Victoria, Princess Royal, in 𝑫𝒊𝒆 𝑹𝒆𝒊𝒄𝒉𝒔𝒈𝒓ü𝒏𝒅𝒖𝒏𝒈 (𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑭𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑬𝒎𝒑𝒊𝒓𝒆), the first part of the series 𝑽𝒐𝒎 𝑹𝒆𝒊𝒄𝒉 𝒛𝒖𝒓 𝑹𝒆𝒑𝒖𝒃𝒍𝒊𝒌 (𝑭𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑬𝒎𝒑𝒊𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑹𝒆𝒑𝒖𝒃𝒍𝒊𝒄). The dress appeared again on Nora Hickler as Henriette in 𝑫𝒆𝒓 𝑷𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒛 𝒊𝒎 𝑩ä𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒇𝒆𝒍𝒍 (𝑩𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒔𝒌𝒊𝒏), the fourth movie of the eighth season of the fairytale anthology series 𝑺𝒆𝒄𝒉𝒔 𝒂𝒖𝒇 𝒆𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒏 𝑺𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒊𝒄𝒉 (𝑭𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝑭𝒂𝒊𝒓𝒚 𝑻𝒂𝒍𝒆𝒔). Most recently, Harriet Herbig-Matten wore the gown as Ruby Bell in the third, fourth, and fifth episodes of the first season of Amazon Prime’s 𝑴𝒂𝒙𝒕𝒐𝒏 𝑯𝒂𝒍𝒍: 𝑫𝒊𝒆 𝑾𝒆𝒍𝒕 𝒛𝒘𝒊𝒔𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒖𝒏𝒔 (𝑴𝒂𝒙𝒕𝒐𝒏 𝑯𝒂𝒍𝒍: 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅 𝑩𝒆𝒕𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝑼𝒔). I need to know: is the plot of “Save You,” the second Maxton Hall novel, as ridiculous as the second season of the show?
Do not get me wrong—I enjoyed the watch. And I’ll be waiting impatiently for season three.
BUT
What the actual hell is going on with Mortimer? His motivation to destroy the life of his son’s girlfriend, a literal child, makes….no sense.
If James doesn’t want to be involved in the company, why force him? It doesn’t actually benefit the company to have someone in leadership who doesn’t want to be there.
Also, James is what, 17? 18? He has no higher education. Why are we treating him as crucial to strategy and stock price? That’s absurd.
And even that, Mortimer just being weirdly obsessed with controlling his kid, would be something I could go along with IF it was just him. But the other stuffed shirt men on the board of his late wife’s company also seem strangely invested in James’ involvement. And his assistant is fully aware, and complicit, in his vendetta against Ruby. So fucking odd.
Similarly, how is the headmaster punishing Ruby, a would-be victim of statutory rape and grooming by a teacher? That’s insane behavior. I might be able to buy it if this was taking place 40 years ago—but not in 2025.
timHi, yep thats my first post. A year ago I started reading a book Save me then Save you and at the end Save us. Thats a trilogy i come back to very often. Last night a reread ,,Save you’’. I want to give a recommendation and a short description. I will start with ,,Save me’’
Save me
A quiet, organised Ruby Bell has two worlds ; school and home. Thats because she has a scholaship in elite highschool Maxton Hall. She is detereminated to study at Oxford, she is on her way to do that, nothing can stop her. Rich, popular James Beaufort is a complete opposite of her. He rules Maxton Hall. He didn’t know that she existed until she cought his sister on something bad. He needs to keep eye on her, but he doesn’t know how close they might be in the future.
Save you
James’s mother died, James is devastated, and he hurts Ruby. Ruby is confused and heartbroken, she wants to move on but she can’t. Will Ruby forgive him, and move on ? Or they will get back together ?
Save us
Photoshoped photos of Ruby kissing a teacher, which of course never happend. Ruby is shocked when he founds out that the photo was taken by James. But it wasn’t him who sent it to headmaster. Meanwhile Lydia, James’s sister is having a rough time.
My rating of this trilogy is 8/10 its a good book but kinda easy. Its nice to read it for fun. The plot is interesting, its that kind of book that you can read it in a day.
